Your gas bill might drop, but your hydro bill is going up.
Announcements today from the Ontario Energy Board mean a hike in the price of electricity for most customers of Hydro One, starting the first of the year.
The ‘delivery line’ for electricity will go up about seven per cent, which the Energy Board says will translate into a price hike of about four dollars a month for a typical customer.
Meantime, the price of natural gas from Enbridge is on the way down.
The Energy Board has approved a drop of two cents a cubic metre on natural gas starting January 1st.
Enbridge says the price drop will save its average customer about sixty dollars a year.
