There is nothing more than making sure your kid’s wishes are fulfilled on Christmas, no matter what the cost.
Such is the reason for a very significant fundraiser taking place today in Shallow Lake.
Tye Everall is a six year old from Wiarton who suffers from cerebral palsy and has just this past week underwent extensive tendon lengthening surgery at London Health Sciences Centre.
Tye wishes for nothing but a bike under the tree for Christmas, but his mom Tina Rouse says he needs a special needs bike that costs upwards of 17-hundred dollars.
To help make Tye’s wish come true this Christmas a group of teamsters under the leadership of Durk & Alma DeVries has organized a sleigh ride fundraiser at Dual Acres farm.
The sleighrides start at 11 AM and run until 3 PM and all money collected will go towards Tye’s bike.
The rides feature Santa and his helpers as well as hot chocolate and all are welcome to the event.
Rouse says as a single mom who is raising her daughters and Tye it can be an overwhelming but says she has no doubt that Tye will not only recover from this very painful surgery but lead a very productive life.
Rouse says every penny helps.
