The Salvation Army in Grey Bruce is asking for your help to raise 40 more thousand dollars for families in need.
Alice Wannan — a Salvation Army spokesperson — says the kettle campaign has only nine days to meet their goal of 67 thousand dollars.
Wannan explains the decrease in donations was caused by the recent snow days which prevented volunteers from getting to their posts.
She adds the last weekend to shop before Christmas is always their busiest two days and you can find the kettles at entrances to malls and stores.
Wannan says they’re thankful for any amount you can give which will go towards the Family Services Program in Owen Sound and Grey Bruce.
She also says if you can’t make it to the kettles — you can drop off donations at the Salvation Army Office at their church building on 14th Street West in Owen Sound.
Should they fall short of their goal — Wannan assures there will be no changes in services, but believes there will be changes in their fundraising techniques.
The campaign wraps up at 3 PM on Christmas Eve.
