A new Tourism Manager has been named for Bruce county.
Planning and economic development director, Chris LaForest, says Kim McPhedran will take over the job.
McPhedran has already been extensively involved in promoting Bruce County as Ontarios number one outdoor, nature based destination in the capacity of Tourism Project Coordinator.
She has been instrumental in delivering the widely popular Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport campaign and has been involved with various other programs including the local food project, and Spruce the Bruce.
McPhedran replaces Chris Hughes who announced in September that he was leaving as Bruce County Tourism manager.
He will become a private tourism consultant with his wife Beverley.
When Hughes resigned, he told the county he would stay on for up to six months until a replacement was found.
In additional to promoting Bruce County, Kim McPhedran will be working with the representatives from Grey and Simcoe Counties in the development of the newly formed Regional Tourism Organization Seven (RTO7).
