The ribbon has been cut and the skiers and boarders are shredding the hills at Blue Mountain Resort.
The resort officially opened Thursday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:30 AM and two lifts and six trails are open today.
The lifts are the Silver Bullet and Easy Rider Magic Carpet.
The runs are Tranquility, Smart Alec, Memory Lane and Easy Rider to name a few.
Conditions are listed as pack powder with a 50 cm base and 35 cm of new natural snow.
Blue Mountain Resort Spokesperson Kelly O’Neil says they will open more terrain over the next couple of days.
Today’s opening is a day ahead of schedule and four days earlier than last year’s opening on the 12th.
