Partial phone and internet service should be restored by Bruce Telecom by 8 PM tonight.
Spokesperson Sherry Anstett tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that 100 per cent of customers will have full service by Midnight.
She says every costumer in Kincardine is now fully back with service.
Anstett says they have been concentrating on getting businesses back online.
Thousands of people in parts of Owen Sound and Saugeen Shores — including Port Elgin and all of Southampton — were affected by the outage on Tuesday.
It happened after a fibre optic cable was cut on River Street in Port Elgin just before 12 PM.
The cable cut is believed to from construction crews, but Bruce Telecom crews haven’t confirmed that yet.
Crew are still at the scene this hour.
