The Regional Rec Centre project in Owen Sound received a big boost on Monday.
The Rotary Club of Owen Sound pledged 75 thousand dollars to the project.
Rotary President Bill Black says they have a mandate to work with children and the Regional Rec Centre “falls right in line with the thinking of Rotarians.”
The Rotary Clubs pledge adds to more than 2.3 million dollars raised so far in a 5 million YMCA led campaign to complete financing.
Black says the Rotary club decided on the 75 thousand dollar figure as a collective.
And he thinks the money will be slanted towards the YMCA’s portion based on their relationship.
Black adds the Rec Centre is a project the Rotary club is very proud to support.
