The Walkerton Hospital Foundation is 25 thousand dollars richer thanks to a donation from Bruce Power.
Bruce Power Community and Government Relations Manager Ross Lamont says the money — which was presented to the foundation just before this week’s Bruce County Council meeting — will be used to help in the construction of a medical clinic adjoining the hospital.
However Lamont says it’s the only announcement he had to make.
He said he’s aware the Brocton and area Doctor Recruitment Committee has been looking for a cash handout to assist their efforts.
Lamont says the company has been talking to a lot of municipalities and hospital foundations about just that sort of thing.
He says the company will look at a reasonable and cooperative way to support the efforts of those groups in Bruce County.
