Christmas is getting jazzy in Port Elgin for a good cause.
The Port Elgin Missionary Church is hosting the first ever Jazz Christmas charity fundraising event for the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey.
Pastor and event organizer Alan Spragg says the night will feature the Christmas Jazz Quintet, which includes Charlie Bell from the annual summertime Big Band Festival.
Spragg says they wanted to host a fun and enjoyable event that would give back to a community charity.
He says the holiday season can be a tough time for charities.
Spragg doesn’t have a set goal in mind of how much they’d like to raise, but he says every bit counts.
Tickets are 25 dollars in advance and 30 dollars at the door.
They can be purchased at the Missionary Church or the Women’s House, as well as Turtle Crossings Toy Store in Port Elgin.
The doors open at 6:30 PM tonight and the show starts at 7 PM.
