The Director of Education of the Bluewater District School Board will be undertaking a system analysis that will help evaluate the entire school system.
John Bryant says he wants to assess where the strengths and opportunities are and then create a strategy for its future direction.
Bryant plans to meet with the general public in several locations in December and January.
Bryant says he wants to hear from everyone and is more than happy to talk to various service clubs and groups to give them an idea of what he has in mind.
Bryant says he knows the board has had problems with communication and transparency in the past and he can address that but he more wants to look to the future and plan with communities as to what that future might be.
He says he’ll bring back to the board after the March Break, a plan that will provide specific measurable attainable time-sensitive targets and recommendations.
The first public meeting goes tonight at Spruce Ridge Community School in Durham.
There will also be a meeting next Monday at Hillcrest Elementary School in Owen Sound.
In the New Year, two more meetings will be held — Wednesday, January 19th at Chesley District High School and Monday, January 24th at Saugeen District Secondary School.
All of the meetings will take place from 6:30 PM to 8 PM.
