Yet another visit from the jolly old elf in the area.
Tonight, the streets of Walkerton will be aglow for the evening Santa Claus parade.
Christine Brant — the Events Co-ordinator — says the events start at 5:30 PM in the basement of the library where Santa will be paying the kids a personal visit and be handing out treat bags until 6:30 PM.
Then the parade begins at 7 PM and it runs along MacNab street and ends at the Walkerton Community Centre.
Brant says the theme of this years parade is “Christmas is for Kids” and about 40 floats are involved.
Then Brant invites all families to take part in the free skate at the community centre hosted by the Walkerton Kinsmen Club which happens from 8 PM until 9 PM.
Brant sees the Christmas shopping season as positive with over 50 stores open for business.
