Damage is pegged at 600 thousand dollars following an earlier morning blaze in Tobermory.
Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire Chief Mike Henderson says the call came in just before 3 AM on Friday.
The owners, who had recently bought the Crow’s Nest restaurant, spotted the fire and called it in.
Chief Henderson says by the time firefighters from Tobermory and Lion’s head arrived on the scene the 3 storey building was fully engulfed in flames.
The building, which contained a 3rd floor owners apartment, was destroyed.
Chief Henderson says the owners will be staying with relatives in the area and haven’t decided whether to rebuild the restaurant.
The Ontario Fire Marshalls’ office arrived on the scene at 3pm today and is probing the cause.
No one was injured.
