Christmas lights, Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree — it was the focal point of Sparkles Night in Southampton.
With the music of the Chapel Winds Brass Quartet playing, about 50 people showed up in front of the Olde Town Hall on Thursday night to light up the traditional Christmas Tree as part of the celebration.
Seven year old Cole Sedore of Southampton who helped decorate the tree, along with other students from G-C Huston school, says Leggo is at the top of his Christmas wish list.
His 11 year old brother Eric on the other hand also had a list but saw Christmas as a happy time when you have the opportunity to share and give to others.
Nevertheless he had snowboarding equipment on his mind for Christmas.
Southampton ward councillor Diane Huber was on hand for the festivities and invited everyone to the municipality to see how well the downtown merchants decorated their storefronts using the 12 days of Christmas as a theme.
Merchants stayed open late last night so people could get some of that Christmas shopping done on Sparkles Night.
