Employment services are still being offered to Grey County residents thru the Owen Sound Family Y, but some changes have taken place over the summer months.
As a result, everyone is invited to the open house today from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Employment Resource Centre in Owen Sound.
Spokesperson Susan Seifert says recently the federal and provincial governments combined a number of employment programs, including Job Connect, into what is now called “Employment Ontario.”
Seifert says the changes went into effect August 1st, and residents can now access all the employment and training programs and services at one location.
The Family Y is offering one-stop Employment Ontario services at it’s newly renovated Employment resource centre, at 1450 1st Avenue West in Owen Sound.
Residents can access computers, fax machines, photo-copier machinesand information on government support programs.
The Y offers resume, cover letter and upgrading options among some of it’s services.
Employment Ontario Services will also continue in Hanover, Meaford, Thornbury, Flesherton, Durham, and Markdale.
