Grey County OPP had to use a taser to arrest a Chatsworth man following a dispute at an Adult Care facility in Chatsworth Township.
OPP were called to the facility for men west of the village of Chatsworth and arrived just after 9 AM on Monday.
The call was made by a resident who was concerned about growing tensions and
the potential fallout of his frustration.
Upon arrival officers learned that threats had been made to one of the staff members who had imposed consequences on a resident for breaking house rules.
The involved resident waited in the home, while police spoke with the staff member outside about the situation.
Shortly after going back in — the staff member was hit in the arm with a fire poker by the resident.
Grey County OPP officers repeatedly told the man to drop the poker and when he wouldn’t, they used a taser to bring him under control. The suspect was then arrested without incident.
The staff member was treated at Grey Bruce Health Services-Markdale but
his injuries were not serious.
A 36 year old Chatsworth man is now charged with Uttering death Threats , Assault with a Weapon and Breach of Probation.
