Eight homeowners in Saugeen Shores are opening their doors for a good cause this Christmas.
The annual Christmas Home Tour, put on by the Chantry Island Cham-bettes is being held this weekend.
Organizer June Fotherby says they’re hoping to do better than last year, when they raised five thousand dollars for the new Rotary Accessible Playground in Southampton.
She says this year they want to raise enough to finish the payment on the park, and then the extra proceeds will go to the Marine Heritage Society to help pay for the new boat that guides the tours to Chantry Island.
Fotherby says the home tour is fun for anyone looking for great ideas for Chrismtas decorating, or even for general interior designing and architecture.
She says the ticket booklets have a map to help you find each home on the tour between Southampton and Port Elgin.
On Saturday, refreshments and lunch will be served at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Southampton – – which also happens to be a stop on the tour.
The tour started Friday and continues Saturday from 11 AM until 4 PM.
Tickets are 15 dollars in advance, 20 dollars at the door the day of.
