The average price of a house in Grey Bruce is down slightly in October.
Figures released by the Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound, show a drop of 2.4 per cent compared to a year ago at just over 210 thousand dollars.
President Karen Cox says that decline was expected because there was a strong market in October 2009.
However, the new average price is down significantly from September of this year, when it was at 227 thousand dollars.
As far as the number of house sales goes, there were 183 sales last month compared with 222 in October of 2009.
Cox maintains the housing resale market is more balanced this year, with a good supply of homes available, meaning it is not a sellers or buyers market at this point.
According to the Realtors Association, there is 8.3 months worth of inventory available now compared to a low last October of 6.1 months.
