A Saugeen Shores boy has been chosen as this year’s Youth Ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Eight-year-old Quinton Moser, who has diabetes, says it’s an important job for him.
He has a couple of big responsibilities that come with as ambassadorship, like giving a speech and cutting the ribbon with the mayor at the Walk For A Cure.
But he’s also promoting a big fundraiser coming up in Port Elgin this weekend.
Quinton is trying to sell tickets for the 2nd Annual Dance for Diabetes at the Lakeshore Recreation Centre.
He says it’s important to raise money for a cure because he doesn’t want people to have to live with diabetes anymore.
The dance starts at 9 PM Saturday and tickets can be bought at the Rexall Pharma Plus in Port Elgin or Southampton.
There will also be a silent auction and cash bar.
All of the proceeds go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
