A tense incident for the OPP in Chatsworth.
Police were called after 6 PM Monday about an agitated man at large with a loaded firearm, and they were also told the man already fired his gun.
The OPP received a call at about 8:30 PM from the suspect who said he would surrender, and he was taken into custody without incident.
A 43 year old Chatsworth Township man remains in police custody and the investigation is continuing.
The OPP did evacuate the area near the Holland Glenelg line and Highway 6 in that area was closed for two and a half hours as part of the investigation.
But residents were allowed to return home last night.
Several units were also called in for the case, including the OPP Canine Unit, the West Region Emergency Response Team and OPP negotiators.
Even an OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit was on its way from London before being called off.
