The Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library has a new Chief Librarian.
Cindy Weir is settling into her new job following her tenure with the Orangeville Library Board.
Weir has spent most of her professional life working in libraries throughout Ontario and as far away as Saskatchewan.
She says she’s happy to be back in Grey Bruce, an area she believes has a lot to offer.
Weir has been on the job for just over a month and already she is impressed with the Owen Sound Library.
She is specifically impressed with the recent annual book sale, adding she has not seen that kind of traffic in a library before.
Weir says the high traffic volume at the library points to a very informed community in Owen Sound.
She says she is looking forward to implementing the library’s recently approved strategic plan in the coming years.
