Its quite a milestone for the Hanover Brownies, they are celebrating their 90th anniversary today.
In honour of this, a Brownie Revel is taking place today from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Grace United Church in Hanover.
The celebration is particularly sweet for Hanover since Hanover was the site of the first Brownies troupe in all of Canada. It was started by Elizabeth Ruttle.
Spokesperson Laura Honegger encourages all past and current Brownie members to attend todays celebration and take a walk down memory lane.
Anyone interested in enrolling their youngsters in one of the guide programs are also encouraged to attend.
Honegger says Hanover is fortunate to have such an active Guide and Brownies division.
While the Hanover chapters boast strong numbers at all levels she says its a much different story nationally where guiding program numbers are on the decline.
Honegger credits Hanovers success to the large number of dedicated volunteers the organization relies on.
A new crest has been designed to commemorate the 90th anniversary, it will be unveiled at todays revel.
All are welcome to attend.
