Huron-Kinloss council has passed the official plan, but Mayor Mitch Twolan says they’re still working through an appeal from the Saugeen Conservation Authority.
Twolan says the appeal is in regards to the ‘Dynamic Beach Policy.’
He says the authority would like more detail for their mapping for any development on the 100 Year Flood Plain.
Twolan says from his end there may not have to be too many amendments.
He says the concerns can be worked with, and he believes it’s more of a housekeeping issue than anything.
The Official Plan has been a ten year process to amalgamate the three original townships, and incorporate zoning by-laws that can work for each area.
Twolan is pleased with the outcome of the plan, which went through a public process with several Ontario Municipal Board hearings.
He says not many things will change, but it will give them more guidelines when it comes to development down the road.
