Close to a dozen new tips have been called in to the OPP about the disappearance of Lisa Maas, following their second search of waterfront land in Owen Sound.
CIB Detective Inspector Ian Maule says since the Cold-case team was in the Scenic City late last month — there have been tips to the OPP website, some to Crimestoppers and some directly to investigators.
Although the OPP are not actively searching the site on 3rd Avenue East north of the Bayshore Community Centre right now, Maule says officers are around Owen Sound following up on the new tips.
He says no decision has been reached on whether to return to the search-site, as they are still reviewing the items of interest recovered last week.
Lisa Maas vanished after a party in Sydenham Township 22 years ago.
Last month, the OPP used a small excavator for the search, along with a ground penetrating radar (GPR) device.
Also, on one occasion a cadaver dog was put into service.
The OPP searched the same property on October 13th and again on the 28th.
The OPP have a suspect in the case, who has been a person of interest for several years but he is not in custody at this point.
The Ontario government is offering a reward of 50 thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the disappearance of Lisa Leona Maas.
