Work is going as planned on Hydro One’s 635 million dollar Bruce-to-Milton transmission line.
This despite a handful of land owners who still have not signed a voluntary agreement with Hydro One.
Spokesperson Danielle Gauvin says the various elements are in place in terms of approvals and construction, and is confident the land acquisition process will be worked out in some way over the next few months.
She says they’re still talking to remaining landowners who are going through a more formalized, lengthy acquisition process.
Meanwhile, work continues in areas where they do have access.
Gauvin is positive this won’t hold up construction, and is confident the project will be complete and online by December 2012 as expected.
So far, 20 of the 728 hydro towers have been erected, starting at Bruce Power.
The construction company hired by Hydro One to build the towers is in the Hanover area now, but Hydro One is ahead of them, building the foundations and footings.
