Efforts by the Conservative and NDP opposition at Queens Park to eliminate the HST from all home heating bills have failed.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound Conservative MPP Bill Murdoch was one of 23 MPP to vote in favour of the NDP Resolution to remove the HST from all hydro, oil and gasoline bills.
At the end of the debate, 41 Liberals defeated the motion Monday in the Legislature.
Murdoch says some constituents in Grey and Bruce have told him their hydro bills were higher than mortgage payments.
He says with hydro bills skyrocketing, this was the Liberal governments chance to make it right and give an immediate 8 per cent break to Ontarians who need
it.
Murdoch says its obvious the Liberal government does not care.
