OPSEU is calling everyone in the Walkerton, Chesley, Durham and Kincardine area to a townhall style meeting tonight on health care.
Spokesperson David Cox says a lot of union members are concerned about changes over the last few years at the four hospitals run by the South Bruce Grey Health centre.
The most recent change was eliminating fresh, cafeteria style foods for “re-thermalized” meals.
There have been other changes at the four hospitals covered by South Bruce Grey health centre, including changes to physiotherapy.
Although Cox maintains all the changes have not had a huge impact on the number of jobs for OPSEU, they have had a negative impact on morale in the hospitals.
Cox says the head of OPSEU in the province is among those attending today, Smokey Robinson.
The Union has invited representives from the various political parties to attend, along with the President of the Grey Bruce Labour council, Dave Trumble.
Cox says the future of health care is at stake, and he hopes for a big turnout.
The meeting is at 7 PM in Victoria Jubilee hall in Walkerton.
