Walkerton’s East Ridge Business Park will soon be home to one of the world’s largest hotel chains.
Outgoing Brockton Mayor Charlie Bagnato calls it the best news to hit Walkerton in years.
Bagnato confirms a 50 room Best Western hotel is not only going to create new jobs — but it will also broaden the tax base.
Bagnato suspect the hotel will also serve as a catalyst for a restaurant chain in the same building — which will create even more jobs.
Bagnato notes this would not of happened without the Clean Water Centre.
The 50 room hotel will include an indoor pool and fitness facility.
Bagnato says the shovel will hit the ground within the next few months and work will be underway by January.
The entire project will take about 8 months to complete and should wrap up in late summer or early Fall.
