More people in Bruce County than Grey County exercised their right to vote in this year’s municipal election.
The highest voter turnout this year was recorded in Brockton — where 58.6 per cent of voters cast a ballot to elect new Mayor David Inglis.
That is up considerably from 38 per cent in 2006 election.
South Bruce Peninsula also recorded a higher voter turnout at 57.1 per cent this year — up from 49 per cent in 2006.
Voters swept town hall clean — rejecting every incumbent seeking re-election as John Close won the Mayor’s race.
Voter turnout in Saugeen Shores, Kincardine and South Bruce also increased this year and topped 50 per cent.
Voter turnout was higher in Owen Sound at 49.2 per cent this year — up from 34.5 per cent four years ago.
