There is a benefit dance at the Port Elgin Legion tonight.
The proceeds will go to help the victims of Hurricane Igor in Newfoundland.
The hurricane hit Newfound on September 21st, causing widespread damage in just a few hours time.
Road beds, bridges and other infrastructure was ruined, cutting off parts of the province from the rest of the country, and leaving many communities along the Peninsulas isolated.
The money raised at tonight’s dance will go to the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts.
Those efforts include equipping shelters and distributing safe water and food kits.
The dance is from 9 PM until 1 AM at the Port Elgin legion.
There will be door prizes, silent auction and a 50/50 draw.
