Residents of Georgian Bluffs who have yet to mail their municipal election ballots can still vote.
Township council was told on Wednesday night that there seems to be some confusion regarding the issue.
Clerk Bruce Hoffman says rumours are floating around that last Friday, October 15th, was the last date voters could drop their ballots in the mailbox.
People seem to believe that if they didn’t mail their ballots by then, they’re out of luck.
Hoffman says October 15th was merely the date by which it would be guaranteed that ballots would make it to the township office by next Monday, October 25th — which is election day.
People are still free to mail their ballots and Hoffman says they may still be received in time to be counted on Monday.
But Hoffman notes a better idea is for voters to bring their ballots right into the municipal office, located in Springmount, anytime before 8 o’clock on election night.
