The Big Canoe is turning in for the winter.
The Chi-Cheemaun ferry should be arriving at her winter berth in Owen Sound this afternoon.
The Chi – Cheemaun and her passengers will be greeted at the Owen Sound Harbour by Mayor Ruth Lovell Stanners, piper Charles Meanwell, tug boats, the city band, and a celebratory spray from the fire departments pumper trucks.
The Big Canoe will set sail from Tobermory and will travel along the eastern shore of the Bruce Peninsula – a cruise expected to last 5 hours.
The trip promises breathtaking views of the escarpment cliffs and fall colours at their peak.
Area residents are encouraged to head to the Owen Sound Harbour to join in the fan fare.
The ship is expected to arrive at 4 PM on Monday.
