Operation Impact was out in full force on our roads this past weekend.
Across Ontario — 8 people lost their lives on our roads and trails.
Nearly seven thousand speeding tickets were given out, along with 144 drunk driving charges, 772 individuals were caught without their seatbelts.
Locally, South Bruce OPP officers charged 40 motorists with speeding and two more were charged with racing.
In one instance — a 46-year-old Huron Townships man was charged with stunt driving for travelling 145km/h in an 80-K zone.
Three male drivers of various ages were charged for drinking and driving.
One driver was found without a licence in Kinloss.
The OPP says they will continue to work with police agencies across this country to save lives while making our highways the safest in the world.
