Owen Sound Police child say the child identified him/herself as Alex and phoned 9-1-1 over 400 times on Sunday.
Police say dispatchers tried calling and shouting into the phone to attract the child’s caregivers’ but without any luck.
They say the telephone appears to be a pay-as-you-go or deactivated cell-phone.
So now, City police are asking all caregivers not to give activated or deactivated cell-phones to children to use as a toy.
The source of the calls was in the vicinity of a communications tower located on Highway 21 five kilometres south of Port Elgin.
