It has been a long 24 weeks of summer but the final event of Sauble Beach’s summer events is being held this weekend.
With it being Thanksgiving Weekend town merchants are clearing out their shops as a few merchants are closing up for the upcoming winter months in an event called “ThanksSAVINGS”.
Allan Gibbons — Spokesperson of Sauble Beach Special Events — says the savings are great as the Main Street will be closed from 11 AM until 6 PM today for shoppers to get in all the sales.
Gibbons says it’s not just the merchants — but the entire town of Sauble Beach had a great summer with all the events that were planned from Victoria Day weekend to this weekend.
He adds mother nature cooperated with almost all the events and the sun as well as the events brought in many tourists every weekend.
Gibbons says the focus now shifts to the Wiarton Willie Festival in February as staff at the special events office works towards making the event bigger and better than last year.
This weekend’s event also includes an Octoberfest event at Sauble Dunes starting at 8 PM with “Brothers the Band” performing live until 11 PM.
