Operation Impact is underway on roads all over Canada this weekend.
It’s a police initiative designed to save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways by educating the public.
Police will be focusing on behaviours that put drivers, passengers and other road users the most at risk — such as impaired driving, seat belt use and aggressive driving.
In Barrie, police say there have been deaths and serious injuries over the past several years due to vehicle collisions, and they say it’s unacceptable.
