South Bruce OPP are investigating after reports of a man approaching children in Walkerton.
Police received a call at 9:15 AM Wednesday about the man, who was seen starting a conversation with a student walking along Third Street toward Brant Central School.
The student reported the incident to a teacher.
He’s been described as between the ages of 30 and 50, brown hair, sunglasses, black or blue cotton jacket with blue or brown pants and a baseball hat.
He also had a beard just covering his chin.
Police are hoping to talk to the man, and asking him to come forward.
Teachers are also encouraged to review Stranger Danger points with their students.
They’re hoping to get the message to kids to use the buddy system, don’t talk to strangers, and if a car is following them, remember the licence plate and tell an adult.
Also, if kids are grabbed by a stranger, they should kick and scream for help.
