Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Larry Miller is encouraging non-profit organizations that work with seniors to apply for federal funding.
The New Horizons for Seniors Program has been helping senior citizens to use their leadership, energy, and skills to benefit their communities.
Miller says community groups that focus on getting seniors healthy and active play an important role.
He says any organization that wants to apply for funding must be able to show how their projects or programs benefit seniors.
Up to 25 thousand dollars is available per project.
Miller adds there is another round of funding on the way which will deal specifically with elder abuse.
The application deadline is October 8th.
