One of the best ever.
So says Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce Events Coordinator Sally Hunt when describing the 2010 edition of Pumpkinfest, which came to an end on Sunday.
Hunt says as usual the community pitched in to make the 2-day event a total success and there was even help from Mother Nature, who managed to dish out some sunshine for two typical fall days.
She says from her initial assessment, it was a bigger crowd than last year, somehwere between 50 and 55 thousand people.
As cleanup continues on this year’s event, Hunt says they’re getting ready for next year’s event which will be special.
Next year Pumpkinfest will be celebrating its 25th anniversary and Hunt is looking for new ideas.
She says they will be organizing round tables where everyone will be welcome to submit ideas as to what can be added to make the event even better.
Hunt says they hope to have these round-tables sometime in November or December.
Besides the weigh-ins and the car show, the President’s Choice Super Dogs appearance yesterday seemed to be a visitor favourite.
