It’s an exciting weekend for Hanover — the doors to the newly constructed P&H Centre are open and the public is invited to come in.
After much anticipation — the P&H Centre is complete and residents can take a first hand look at the 10.5 million dollar recreation complex.
There are a number of activities taking place at the P&H Centre tonight and all day tomorrow
Event Co-chair Lorrie Pegelo encourages everyone to join in the celebration.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 4:30 PM Friday — followed by an Olympic style Parade of Users.
Then — the Hanover Barons take on the Mitchell Hawks in a Western Junior C hockey game — the first official game on the new NHL sized ice rink.
The celebrations spill over to Saturday beginning with a Fireman’s Breakfast and tours of the facility as well as lots of ringette and hockey games.
The day also includes a free family skate, face painting and a Hanover Minor Hockey skills competition which is open to all age groups.
As a special treat — there will also be a Skate Canada Show Saturday night (7:15 PM to 8:30 PM) featuring Canadian Olympians Vanessa Crone Poirier as well as Canadian Junior Champions and Silver Medallists Mitch Islam and Alexandra Paul.
The evening will conclude with a free adult skate and adult refreshments.
All events are free and everyone is invited to join in the fun.
