The Grey Bruce Children’s Water Festival is on — celebrating ten years.
About two thousand Grade four students are attending the festival which runs until this Friday
Students we spoke to were learning about everything from green energy, to the state of our local water systems, to how much of an impact an oil spill like in the Gulf of Mexico can have on our ecosystem.
Chair Craig Todd says he often hears from teachers and the public the program works.
Todd says parents often say their kids now give them heck every time they wash their car or watering their lawn.
As for teachers, Todd says the festival provides them with learning materials to take back to the classroom and then do a follow up in a few months to get feedback.
The festival is running until Friday at the Community Centre in Chesley.
