A new way to explore the pages of Bruce County’s history.
Local writer Anne Judd and artist Kenneth Thornburn have teamed up and created a new dayplanner called Bruce Day By Day.
Judd says an illutration done by Thornburn will appear on every left-hand page, and the dates will be listed on the right, with a significant moment in Bruce County’s history.
There are some empty spaces, and Judd’s hoping that will prompt some to come forward with more history.
Judd says she and Thornburn had been contemplating a collaboration for a while, and the idea of local history without a lot of heavy writing really appealed to them.
But she says that did bring the challenge of trying to shorten a big piece of history into one sentence.
However, Judd hopes that will entice people to further explore that day in history.
She says it was also tough to try and make sure that every part of the county was represented equally, but overall they’re pleased with the dayplanner they’ve put out.
The book Bruce Day By Day can be found at the Bruce County buildings in Walkerton, the Brucedale Press in Port Elgin, and Northern Flyer Designs in Tara.
