The 2010 Relay for Life in Hanover was a huge success.
Event co-chair Vicky Boyington says they raised just over 89 thousand dollars this year, compared with 77 thousand dollars a year ago.
The event ran overnight from 7 PM Friday until 7 AM this morning at Hanover Raceway.
Boyington says there were over 400 people involved this year, with forty-one teams taking part.
She says it was a night to celebrate, remember and fight back, as men, women and children joined together in the fight against cancer.
Over the last five years, the Hanover Relay for Life event has managed to raise nearly 700 thousand dollars.
Money raised through the Hanover Relay for Life will go to support the Canadian Cancer Society as well as assist local families battling cancer.
It was the last Relay for Life event this year, in Grey Bruce.
