The six hospitals of Grey Bruce Health Services are putting their best foot forward.
GBHS President and CEO Maureen Solecki says four surveyors from Accreditation Canada are finishing their assessment of the hospitals’ performance against a wide range of standards.
Solecki says this time around actual patients are a big part in the process.
She says selected patients are asked if they would like to be interviewed by the surveyors about their hospital experience.
In addition, staff and management are being interviewed.
Solecki says this is the first year though that GBHS will be assessed using Accreditation Canada’s new approach which focuses on patient experiences during their hospital stay.
The survey, which happens every three years will determine how well GBHS meets the key standards for quality of patient care in the six hospitals.
The results of the survey will be sent to the hospitals in the near future.
