The third annual Family Fun Dance takes place tonight at the Hanover Legion.
Natalie McDonald is turning 11 and she has a special birthday wish.
The Grade six student wants to raise as much money as she can to send kids like her to Easter Seals camp.
It costs two thousand dollars to send one child to camp for 10 days.
Camp says Natalie is the one place where children like her can be themselves without feeling different.
Natalie suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy — a genetic disease that attacks the nerve cells in the spinal cord.
And although Natalie may be confined to a wheelchair — her spirit is not.
With the help of her mother, Natalie has raised close to 60 thousand dollars for Spinal Muscular Atrophy research, Easter Seals and other worthy causes.
The Family Fun Dance includes carnival games, face painting, door prizes and crafts.
Doors open at 5 PM and it runs till 10 PM.
Tickets are just five dollars for adults , 3 dollars for kids and a dollar for preschoolers.
Natalie says ‘no present’s please’ — all she requests is that people come out have a good time at her birthday party and support Easter Seals.
Last year’s event raised seven thousand dollars — and Natalie hopes to surpass that total this year.
