Nominations have closed for the municipal election in Owen Sound.
And there are total of 4 people running for Mayor, 16 seeking council positions and Arlene Wright is acclaimed as the City-County councillor.
Incumbent Mayor Ruth Lovell Stanners, is being challenged this year by current city Councillor Deb Haswell, community advocate Ray Botten and handy-man Jerry Gordon Bates.
As far as council is concerned, there were two new nominations today.
Colleen Purdon and Jeffrey Robins threw their names in for seats on council.
On Thursday, former Mayor Rick Beaney filed his nomination papers along with newcomers Les Coleman, Brian Gibbons and Brent Jeffries.
Incumbents Bill Twaddle, Peter Lemon, David Adair and Jim McManaman are also running for re-election.
Other names on the ballot include Ian Boddy, Andy McCaffrey, Sharon McKeachnie, Mike Moore, Scott Greig and Jan Chamberlain.
The vote is October 25th.
