Almost half of the former workers at Dickies in Hanover have found new jobs or career paths.
Almost 45 per cent of the 89 former Dickies employees in Hanover have found new jobs or went back to school.
The numbers come from the Dickies Action Centre — which was officially opened on Thursday.
The centre has been in operation since February after the factory closed its doors in late January.
Committee Chair Sarah Zamin says it’s great news they’ve been able to reach such a high percentage in such a short period of time.
Centre Coordinator Loretta Mason says at the new centre they help with resume writing and job searches.
Mason says the centre provides internet access and always has volunteers to help.
The centre is funded by the provincial government.
Typically adjustment centres last a year — depending on what percentage of workers they can help transition.
The Centre on 6th Avenue in Hanover is open Monday to Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM.
