A warning for parents who are planning to coach their kids’ hockey or soccer team — it’s going to take a lot longer to get a criminal record check.
The OPP say while in past years, it’s taken only about a week to get the necessary paperwork.
But there have been changes to the process.
It will now take as long as six months to get the paperwork, since in some cases, applicants might need to submit fingerprints to the RCMP.
