The Do NOT use water advisory continues for residents at Marl Lake and Lake Rosalind this Labour Day weekend.
Those residents who get water from Lake Rosalind and Marl Lake are still under a Do Not Use Water Advisory this weekend because of blue green algae.
The advisory was was issued late last month and may be for a while yet.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit and the Ministry of Environment will take water samples again on Tuesday to see if the presence of blue green algae is gone.
If not, the advisory will continue.
Tests on the lakes last week showed the toxic levels had actually increased since the advisory was first issued August 20th.
The Do Not Use Order is just that — do not use to drink, shower or swim, do not use it to wash clothes or dishes and do not give it to your pets.
Residents should not boil the water either because that might release even more toxins.
This advisory will remain in effect until the Ministry of the Environment tests indicate the water in the lake is safe for human consumption.
