Everything from stolen cars to old wedding dresses can be found along our shorelines — and that’s exactly what’s bringing the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup back to our area for a 17th year.
Over one thousand cleanup sites registered across Canada.
This year’s cleanup will take place Saturday September 18th.
Josh Laughran – the Director of Communications at WWF — says you can either sign up for one of the existing sites, or register as a site coordinator and get your own team going.
Registration to be a Site Coordinator ends September 10th, but anyone can sign up as a Cleanup Participant until September 18th.
Over 160,900 kilogram of litter was removed from Canadian shorelines last year.
The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup aims to promote understanding of shoreline litter issues by involving locals in the keeping their shores litter free.
