Brockton Mayor Charlie Bagnato says MPP’s need a crash course on the dangerous of crystal meth.
He says this is particularly true for MPP’s from the larger urban centres were crystal meth is not as much of a problem compared to rural regions.
The MPP’s have now been invited by the head of the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit to learn more about the deadly drug.
Bagnato says the presentation is not a ‘pretty’ one — but he feels that is important so the message gets across to our government officials.
Bagnato sits on the Grey Bruce Crystal Meth Taskforce — which has requested the province fund drug councillors for both the Owen Sound and Walkerton jails.
Bagnato says jail time may very well be the best time to help some of these young people turn their lives around.
As it is now, Bagnato says there is nothing in place to help them.
